Oh, what a beautiful day. This of course is my first Spring and I'm loving it. Of course the only other season I've known has been Winter. I have a feeling I am really going to love Spring.
What is it about theis season? Is it the feeling of growth? The feeling of rebirth? The fertility rites? The blooming plants all around? Perhaps, it it just that everyone has been couped up indoors for so long, and covered from head to toe in layer upon layer of clothing. Suddenly everyone just can't wait to strip everything off and run around naked.
Personally, I can't wait to jump in the pool naked, but dad says he's going to make me war a diaper anyway. Soemthing about not wanting a 24 foot wide bucket of formula.

I'll wipe my own butt thank you
What is wrong with people? I'm a baby so I should have someone feed me, bathe me, and wipe my butt. You can be sure though that when I finally figure out how to do those things I'm not going to let anyone do it for me. I'm especially not letting anyone wipe my butt.
That reminds me of a book Tuesdays With Morrie. The author writes about his meetings with and old and loved professor who is dying of ALS. The man shws us how to die with dignity, but the one thing I remember most was that he was afraid of the time that would come when someone would have to wipe his butt. The ultimate indignity as he called it. He eventually got over it, but it took some doing.
I have no problem with doing everything possible to keep someone alive, but you have to take into account quality of life. In the book Morrie's death, though sad, was hopeful because even up to the end he loved life and you knew that because he told you. He could communicate his desire to live. At the very end you knew he was ready to die. Kind of like my dad's dog Murph. The day before he died they were playing and having fun. He could tell he was enjoying life, even though he was pretty crippled and only a shadow of his former self because he swore he saw him smiling. The day he put him down though he knew it was time. He broke his back on the stairs. He could tell he was in pain. He looked into his eyes and all he could see was him pleading with for the end.
Terri Schiavo can't ask for the end, but I think 15 years and the best doctors is all one could ask. What if she is in there awake and conscious, but can't communicate? That would be horrible.
As far as congress and the president getting involved. Very simple they shouldn't be.
When the Judicial Branch rules that is the end. Congress is not allowed to go back and create a new law because they don't like how the judges interpret this one.
Politics used to be so simple. Democrats wanted government to control everyone and everything and Republicans wanted to stay out of your life. The reality is differn't though isn't it.

New Pictures
Are you tired of my politics? Finally dad got around to getting some pictures out. I've been out and about visiting my public since last you all saw me. I went to Grandma Barb's to visit with my cousins Readon and Colier, as well as Uncle Ray and Great Aunt Bev. Grandma and Aunt Bev were trading me back and forth all night. I went with mom to visit Dr. Gallee. As Doctors go I think he's all right. Then again I only know two. Saturday March 5th I went out to my first play. Grandma Barb was playing the piano and Grandpa Ray was continuing his acting career in a play called Pippen. It was about a boy who was growing up and he just wasn't satisfied with anything because he always thought there was something better and more important he was meant to do. Grandpa Steve came to baby sit. I'm kind of liking the beard thing. It keeps my head warm. He brought along my cousins Chelsi and Krista.
All in all this first month has been pretty good. Though I think dad is getting tired of waking up two or three times a night to feed me.
