Well I finally did it. I went and celebrated my first birthday.
I had a great time and I would like to thank my aunts, uncles, and cousins for all the great gifts.
Of course turning one means I can do a lot more exciting things.
I can play games.
I can ride a horse.
I can chase a rabbit.
Of course getting the rabbit out of the cage can sometimes be difficult.
What I like best though is taking the time to ride a lawnmower.
I thought 2005 was a pretty great year, and not only because the world was graced by my presence, but because I generally had a lot of fun. 2006 looked like it was going to be even better, dad took a job in Kentucky, I went to my first day care part-time, Itty Bitty Prep, my picture was in the paper, mom quit her job and stayed at home, things were just going great. Then the wheels fell off of our little train. Era seemed to stop trying to sell our house, at least there weren't any people coming to look at it. Then all the paperwork that was supposed to have been done didn't get done. Suddenly, the time had come for us to move and we couldn't.
What had seemed so fun at first, driving every weekend and visiting a new place, was now a chore that had to be done so that we could be together as a family. Mom's tired of it, dad's tired, I'm tired, but the worst part is just hanging out in limbo waiting for something to happen. We can't move until we sell the house in Illinois, but we can't seem to sell the house in Illinois because the realtor's aren't bringing anyone to see the house and on top of all that they promised to buy the house, but they don't seem to want to follow through with that plan.
If thinkg had been done right and on time this wouldn't be a problem, or at least we would have some options that don't include sitting around waiting. If ERA had appraised the house 5 months ago like they were supposed to then they could have made an offer months ago and we would know how much money we were going to make on the house and when it would happen. We would have had the option of taking the offer or firing the real estate professionals and starting over. It's the sitting around waiting for them to do something that is the worst.
